Summer Celebration Night

Pack up the whole family and join us on Sunday, July 18th at 6:30 p.m. for a night of celebrating what God is doing!  We will have worship, a campfire, snacks, and skits—we might even have a baptism!

Bring your lawn chairs or yard blankets and join us for our Summer Celebration Night at Camp Brosend.

Staff

Camp Brosend’s paid Day Camp Staff is a carefully selected and trained group of mature individuals who will plan and implement scheduled activities.  Our program leaders include two licensed educators who also have over fifteen years of camping experience.

We take the safety and well-being of your child very seriously.  Therefore, references have been checked on all volunteers and employees at the camp.  Criminal history and sex offender background checks are also conducted on all volunteers and employees age 18 and older.  In addition, staff received training in camp programs, age appropriate activities, discipline, and emergency procedures.

Check-in & Check-out

Check In:

·        Parents will sign in each camper at drop off in the Day Camp program room on a daily basis.
·        Drive back to the gate the way you came in instead of driving all the way around the circle.  This pattern will be safer for all of our campers.

Check Out:

·        Our staff will check your photo ID against the authorized pick up list.
·        Sign out the camper on a daily basis.
·        Please notify us if you will be picking up your child early so we can be prepared.

Please Note:  Leaving the camp grounds without written permission warrants immediate dismissal from the camp.

Trading Post

Campers can purchase items at the Trading Post on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Campers will place their spending money in the “bank” in the morning upon arrival.  Any change will be returned back on their last day of camp for the summer.

Recycling Credit:  Bring a full plastic grocery bag of rinsed, squashed, aluminum cans and receive a $2.00 Trading Post credit (max 1 bag/camper/5 weeks).

Rules for Camp Life

It is our desire that Camp Brosend maintain an atmosphere where each camper has the opportunity to accept Christ as his/her personal Savior; to have fun; and to learn and grow spiritually, physically, and mentally. Campers and staff are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that encourages these objectives:

1.  Campers and staff members will be under the direct supervision of the program assistant and are expected to abide by the schedule unless excused.

 2.  Every person is expected to conduct himself in a Christian manner at all times.

 3.  Campers and staff members can only leave the camp with the program assistant's permission.  Leaving the camp grounds without written permission warrants immediate dismissal from the camp.

 4.  The possession and use of tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, or fireworks in any form are prohibited on the camp grounds.

5.  Sickness or injury must be reported to the camp nurse immediately.  All medications are to be turned in to the camp nurse in their original containers with their original prescription upon arrival (including Aspirin, Tylenol, etc.).

 6.  Radios, cell phones, beepers, mp3 players/ipods, CD players, TVs, video games, toys, pets, shaving cream, silly string, super soakers/water cannons, gum, and candy are to be left at home.

 7.  Public display of affection is discouraged.  Hand-holding is permitted.

 8.  Clothing:  Modesty and decency must prevail.  Short shorts, bare midriff, spaghetti straps, or revealing clothing is prohibited.  One piece swimsuits (no cut-outs) are to be worn with cover-ups to and from the swimming area.  Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times while outside the bath houses.

 9.  The telephone may only be used with the program assistant’s permission.

 10.  Campers are permitted near the lake or in the woods only with counselor supervision.

 11.  Campers and their parents/guardians will be held responsible for any unnecessary damage to camp property.  Destruction of camp property warrants immediate dismissal from the camp.

Anyone not willing to abide by the above rules will be asked to leave the camp.
