Flag Pole​

Submission
 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

At camp we always proudly honor our God given government authorities.  This means gathering to raise the flag solemnly say the pledges and then proceed to carry on as though we lost our minds with silly songs skits and chants
It is a rare moment that kids look forward to getting up at 7:30 am during the summer, but at Camp it's always worth it to see what silliness can be had at flag raising.

Authority is from God submission is ok
One of the hardest lessons we have to learn in life is submission and authority.  Most of the time when the Bible teaches about authority it instructs us about submission and not about empowering or instructing who has authority and why.  If when we are growing up, we don't learn how to submit to those in authority over us then this becomes a tough lesson we struggle with as adults.  What areas of submission would you like prayer for? Government submission? Submission to a boss? Submission to a husband? Submission to a parent? Submission to God?
